After looking at Grand Budapest hotel in relation to my colour palette within my work, I was really happy to see that he worked with H&M for their Christmas advert 2016. I love the story behind it, and the direction is unmistakably Wes Anderson.
Frame within a frame, a key compositional technique commonly used and identifiably Wes Anderson, was evident throughout the film, (examples above and below), as well as a lot of symmetry and the colour palette consisting of pastel colours. Something very special about Anderson's work is his uniqueness, and how you will know that its his direction behind any film you see of his because of how largely he impacts the cinematography. This is something I really admire and would love to come through my work as I progress.
