1 to 1 with Juneko

Today in my one to one with Juneko I showed her my research so far and explained the ideas I have in mind for where I plan to take this brief.

After Katie's lecture on landscape I was still slightly unsure about how I can differentiate between portrait, landscape and still life as it felt like they were blurring into one almost. I showed Juneko images I had found from Zara's e-commerce of some bags. (below) She explained that they could be viewed as any of the three but that it is how I present them and its more about convincing my tutors what it represents to me. I am still rather baffled at how a landscape can be a macro shot of a handbag but there we are, its beginning to make sense and I quite like it as it means I have much more freedom and scope for my images to be more consistent.

Areas which Juneko suggested to research into to further my project is swedish graphic design and Luke Stephenson's show birds. Luke stephenson is the guest lecturer who is visiting friday, and his work with simple colours and subject I was familiar with previously but I hadn't looked into him further in relation to my own work. Unfortunately, this weekend I am taking a trip to Rome and will miss fridays lecture. I was so disappointed but Juneko said if I have any questions for him I can email and he is sure to reply.
Whilst I am away this weekend I plan to try and shoot a short moving image clip similar to that of the Zara TRF campaign/ Paul Capra's Thailand adventure video. Any practice in moving image I will jump upon the chance as I feel I really need it. I am also going to kickstart my project and take as many landscape images and anything which stands out to me as relating to my work with colour- the perfect excuse to eat pretty coloured gelato.

After my tutorial I felt much more confident for my direction in this brief and excited to start shooting.
