Week 23 Workshop
12:20
This weeks lighting workshop's task was to create image which conveyed the feeling of glamour and/or sex appeal. As a group we first looked online for inspiration and found that we all thought the black and white images were the most glamorous. Our set up involved one soft box lighting the front of his face, and another light lighting the black background. Also a large white reflector towards the models face to fill in any harsh shadows.
Oli was conveniently in a suit for this workshop which meant he was our model today. How very glamourous.

Our first image was to test the lighting. After we had successfully worked out our lighting we were able to focus on the model and position him in a more glamorous manner. We felt that this image was far too plain and lacked character.

For our second image It was suggested that Oli hold his blazer over his shoulder as this suggests a more casual mannerisms and was a more relaxed image, which feels more glamourous. I still felt as though it was quite a stern looking photograph and wanted something a bit cheekier and suggested that he stood to the side and looked towards the camera at an angle.

After positioning Oli at a different angle I felt this gave a better image but the position of his head was still quite stern and quite dominating rather than something which is cheeky and glamourous.

Our final image I am really pleased with. Oli's position is relaxed and the way his head is looking down looks cheeky and his eyes have more depth in them and feel more welcoming.
I am really happy with the outcome of this workshop. We worked really well as a team and everyone had an input into the making of the images. I was in charge of how the model stood and helping with facial expression and directing him, I found that this job suited me and the group agreed with my decisions and they worked well.
