Annie Leibovitz: Alice in Wonderland

Whilst looking for inspiration for artists similar to Philip Lorca Dicorcia, I stumbled across this editorial which google seemed to think was related- I'm not entirely sure why but I'm very grateful to google for showing me this beautiful editorial shot by photographer Annie Leibovitz, who coincidentally Juneko had shown us to another series of hers a couple of weeks ago so I instantly recognised the name.

This fantasy inspired spread was published in Vogue in December 2003 and feature some famous faces including Donatella Versace, Marc Jacobs, and Karl Lagerfeld. Model Natalia Vodianova who plays Alice, is pictured wearing couture pieces made from silk-tulle, chiffon-organza and lace.

She created a real fashion piece with this. If you look closely, you’ll notice some familiar faces… Donatella Versace, Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfield, and Christian Lacroix, appear alongside other designers in this fun spread. Alice (Natalia Vodianova) is shown wearing couture pieces made from silk-tulle, chiffon-organza and lace.
