Technical Workshop Week 18

This week our task in our technical workshop was to create a section of images conveying danger and disturbance. We used blue and red gels together to create an eery feel.
We were told not to rely on model expression and that the feel of the photograph should depend solely on the lighting.

The last two images we made using double exposure, flashing the bulb multiple times during the exposure and moving whilst doing so, capturing the two different position in one image.
This technique gives a creepy, surreal effect that conveys disturbance.
I don't think red always conveys danger, and blue cold; manipulating the way you light using the gels also has a big effect on the mood of the outcome; a dimly lit red like the 5th image from the top above doesn't feel dangerous, but more passion. whereas if the image was lit more flatly it may convey more of a dangerous feeling.
