First Brief
13:55
Our first brief was designed to introduce and/or reinforce our existing knowledge of our 35mm SLR camera in manual format and to get used to the idea of following a brief to the guidelines given.
We shot for one day in two separate locations in Norwich; The cathedral and a Plantation Garden.
The brief was as follows:
Produce 4 images which demonstrate manual control of the camera and should include:
- An image that shows selective focus without the object nearest the camera being in focus.
- An image which shows extensive depth of field.
- An image that freezes movement.
- An image that blurs movement.
My four final images were;
Selective focus- Shot at 1/125 f.5.6 ISO 3200 Canon 600D
Extensive depth of field - Shot at 1/100 f/11 ISO 200
Freezing movement- Shot at 1/4000 f/4.5 ISO 400
Blurring movement- Shot at 0.30000s f/29 ISO 100
For this brief I am happy with how my images came out individually, however I don't like the way they fit together as four images. I was purely focusing on the technical side of the images rather than aesthetics, my favourite shot is my freezing movement photograph, I backlit this image with natural light to ensure each droplet of water was highlighted and visible, I am very happy with this outcome.
I feel my image of extensive depth of field is very boring, and doesn't reflect myself as a photographer. It does however fit the brief therefore I chose not to reshoot.
