Where I Am

22:54

What are your strengths?

  • I am good at giving constructive advice on a peers work and giving them another perspective and/or opinion of their work which can help them to improve. I know how to be sensitive with my opinion yet still forthcoming and trying to be as helpful as possible.
  • I am a good team player and am confident and assertive enough to manage a team of people and delegate tasks to individuals who i feel would suit them. Although being self reliant and able to work well by myself, I would feel confident to approach others and believe would work well in collaboration work, for example with peers from other courses.

What you think you need to improve?

  • Although I am good at giving constructive advice i am not very good at taking advice from others that would go against what i already believe to be right, I can be overly stubborn and fixed in what i believe in, this can be an issue when taking constructive criticism, I would rather keep asking opinions until I find one which is the same as my own, taking constructive criticism and using it to build on and improve my work is very important and crucial in the learning process so I know this is an area in which I need to improve.
  • I am not good at writing reports and any extensive written work, I find them daunting and I struggle to keep working for long periods of time. I believe this is an important aspect which I need to work on, as finding a way which helps me to work and remain focused, for example breaking it up into chunks which I can comprehend more easily.
  • I struggle with time management, and although I always meet deadlines I often leave things to the last possible moment to complete, this is a bad habit which needs to be broken as deadlines are a lot more strict at university and there are more serious consequences when work is handed in late.

How are you going to work on the above ‘areas for development’?
You are asked to state what methods, ways or strategies you are going to use to
critically review your progress over the next 8 weeks.

  • In any given piece of work I will produce, I want to be able to identify an area of the work which I can say I developed and changed due to the guidance of either my tutor or a peer and look back on it and say that I am glad i made the decision to use another persons view point.
  • When faced with any long written assessments or work I will not put it off until it is due but work at it in little chunks so it does not become overwhelming, and therefore I can complete it over the whole time I have been asked to complete the task.
  • I hoped to be more organised and to meet deadlines before the day work is due, any work I submit this term I will aim to subject at least one day before the due date.
